Information You Send Us
Estimate Request Form
When you request an estimate, the form collects your name, phone number, ZIP code, the service you choose, any details you type, and the page you sent it from.
Duct and Vent Problem Checker
The problem checker runs in your browser. Nothing leaves your device until you ask for your report by email. At that point it sends your answers, the home details you picked, your name, email address, ZIP code, and optional phone number and notes, along with your consent to be contacted.
How Your Request Is Delivered
Forms on this site don't use third-party form services. Our own server builds an email from your details and sends it through Google's Gmail email service over an encrypted connection to this site's inbox. Google handles that email as our email provider under its own terms and privacy policy. Problem checker reports also go to the email address you enter.
How We Use and Share Information
- We pass your request to one licensed local technician so they can contact you by phone, text or email about that request
- We use your details to answer questions you send and to fix problems with the site
- We disclose information when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena
- We don't sell or rent your information
- We don't send your request to multiple companies
- We don't add you to marketing email lists
Information Collected Automatically
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people, Google Tag Manager to load that measurement code, and Microsoft Clarity on the home page to see how visitors use it. It doesn't use advertising pixels, social media trackers or advertising cookies.
- Google Analytics: a script from Google records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type and your approximate location (city or region). It sets first-party cookies named "_ga" and "_ga_0KLSDQPLXJ" to tell repeat visits apart. Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses. We don't send your form details to Google Analytics and we don't use it for advertising. Google processes this data under its own terms for sites that use its services.
- Microsoft Clarity (home page): a script from Microsoft records how visitors use the home page, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, along with device and browser type, and may set cookies to tell repeat visits apart. We use it only to improve the page layout, not for advertising, and form fields are masked. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Spam protection: when you submit a form, the server stores a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address with the times of recent submissions, so it can limit repeated sends. It never stores the IP address itself.
- Browser storage: if you switch between light and dark mode, your browser saves that choice under the name "theme." It never leaves your device.
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider's servers record basic request information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep request emails only as long as needed to respond, arrange service and handle follow-up questions, and no longer than 24 months. Spam-protection records hold only recent submission times and get overwritten as they age.
Your Choices
- Every form field beyond what's needed to reach you is optional
- You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through the contact page
- You can tell the technician at any time that you no longer want to be contacted
- You can clear the saved theme setting by clearing this site's data in your browser
- You can block Google Analytics by blocking cookies in your browser or installing Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
Security
Form submissions travel to our server over HTTPS, and our server sends email to Gmail over an encrypted connection. The mail account password sits outside the public web folder. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what we collect so there's less to protect.
Children's Privacy
This site is meant for adults arranging home services. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and its effective date. Questions about this policy go through the contact page. Our terms of service explain the rules for using the site.
